POSITION SUMMARY

Immediate opening for a full-time UL 508A Electrical Panel Assembler to assemble, wire, and test industrial control panels.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS

Include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

  • Read and interpret workmanship instructions, assembly drawings, wiring lists and schematics. Utilize these documents for proper installation of parts and wiring.
  • Install and connect electrical components such as transformers, terminal boards, fuse blocks, PLCs and other components following the assembly package drawings.
  • Wire and interconnect electrical components in accordance with the schematics and or wire lists to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively to the immediate supervisor the status of part replenishment in order to produce assemblies in a timely manner.
  • Use any specialized tooling required in the respective area. Ability to complete any necessary certifications if required to do so.
  • Ability to perform co-worker's job functions as part of rotation and during absences within the department.

 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years related experience plus training. Equivalent combination of related education and experience will be considered.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience wiring electrical panels.
  • Able to conduct electrical testing, troubleshooting and rework as required.
  • Able to create proper soldering connections.
  • Read and interpret standard measuring devices such as tape measures, scales, squares, etc.
  • Must exercise safe electrical habits.
  • Must be able to distinguish between colors.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work independently.
  • Fluent in English and able to communicate well with others.
  • Able and willing to work in a constantly changing environment.
  • Proficient in operating standard hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to use computers to locate proper documentation and tracking of times.

 

VALUED BUT NOT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with electrical best practices.
  • Able to provide guidance to less experienced assemblers as needed.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands, fingers, handle, or grasp; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Vision abilities required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or ask for assistance.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Work conditions may include elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection and extreme temperatures, both high and low. The noise levels in some manufacturing facilities frequently may exceed the normal dBA. The employee will be required to wear safety glasses.
  • The employee is expected to adhere to all company policies and to act as a role model in the adherence to policies.
