Radio Frequency Identification or RFID sensors are used in a variety of operations. RFID sensors read the serial number of a tag that is attached to every product to document that each item has moved through the entire assembly process. RFID sensors reduce inspection time needed and ensure complete processing for all items. It also separates or groups together items, or otherwise organizes product lines to ensure quality control.

Proximity Sensors detect, their target through non-contact technology. The advantages to using these sensors are their insensitivity to oils, water and dirt, and non-metallic particles. These are often used in feed bowl operations for assembly and automation industries. They detect when products are present and can be used to turn off to equipment or portions of to conserve energy and increase lifespan of your machines.

Photoelectric sensors send out an invisible infra-red light that registers between a transmitter and receiver during operations. When the sensory line is broken, it sends out a signal to the programmable controller. There are 8 forms of photoelectric sensors. Sensors are used alongside pneumatic slides and grippers to sense product transfer and rotations. The grippers will not close until a product breaks the sensor’s line, showing product is in place for the movement.
